Another season comes to a close this weekend, with all but one resort shutting down as spring sports quickly take over. Expect a light dusting of snow today and sunshine for the weekend. Resort closing dates

There’s still plenty of snow to get in a few more runs before the season comes to a close. Most resorts will shut down after April 15th. St. Patty’s Day on the slopes

Winter has arrived in the Sierras. Tahoe resorts have reported 6″ – 40″ of new snow this week, with more to come. A cold front and heavy snow are expected Friday and Saturday blessing the slopes with another 1-2 feet by Sunday morning. Expect snow to trail off on Monday. Storm totals, weekend forecast

Expect sell-out crowds at the resorts this weekend as skiers and riders flock to the mountains to take advantage of the best storm to date. Snowfest! starts Friday

This week’s snowstorm was a welcome site for the North Lake Tahoe Resorts as they get ready to kick off the annual Snowfest! celebration on Friday. This will be the 31st year that North Lake Tahoe comes alive with 10 days of fireworks, parades, contests, parties, races, fundraisers and more. Vail acquires Kirkwood

Vail Resorts, Inc. announced Wednesday that it has agreed to acquire Kirkwood Mountain Resort for $18 million, making it the third Lake Tahoe ski resort to be purchased by Vail.
