With the holiday crowds gone, January is the perfect time to take a trip to Tahoe for some winter fun. Several Tahoe resorts are offering special deals for teens and adults who want to try a new winter sport. These all-inclusive packages include lessons, rentals and lift ticket. If you are ready to take the plunge, make sure to pack the appropriate gear – ski/snowboard pants and jacket, thermals, warm socks, waterproof gloves, hat and sunglasses or goggles.

Sierra at Tahoe
Available all season except holiday weekends (Jan. 20-21, 2013, and Feb. 17-22, 2013.)

Jan. 1 through Feb. 14
Homewood
First time skiers and snowboarders can purchase a half-day package Sun. – Fri. (non-holiday) for $44. The package includes a 2-1/2-hour beginner lesson, beginner lift ticket and all-day equipment rentals. This package is for ages 13 and older and must be purchased online a minimum of 48 hours in advance and excludes all Saturdays and Sunday, Jan. 20. You can upgrade to a 3-day package for $81 more ($125 total) and includes includes a 2-1/2-hour beginner lesson, beginner lift ticket and all-day equipment rental each day.

Squaw Valley

Diamond Peak
