I recently stayed at the Sunnyside Lodge, a quaint bed & breakfast style hotel located on the west shore of Lake Tahoe. The 23 rooms are decorated in a lodge style, with most of the rooms having a beautiful lake view and some have wood-burning fireplaces. One of the nice features of Sunnyside is their online reservations, where you can view the amenities and availability of each room and book the room you want.
On this stay we booked room #20 located at the front of the building. It is one of the larger rooms and features a large stone fireplace. It was the furthest from the lake, but still has a nice view from the balcony.

A buffet breakfast is served each morning on the 2nd floor balcony above the bar, with a full view of the lake. The hostess greeted most guests by name and was very accommodating. The buffet had a nice selection of fruit, cereals, pastries, a hot egg dish, juice and coffee.

The main lodge offers lakeside dining in two restaurants. The Mountain Grill features a sports bar and casual dining; Sunnyside’s Lakeside Dining Room offers fine dining centered around steaks and chops, featuring prime and all-natural beef. Make sure to save room for Kimo’s Original Hula Pie, their signature dessert.
