Bill Foster, a Petaluma native who found his calling as a member of the Alpine Meadows ski patrol, died tragically last December in an avalanche.

Bill was one of the founding members and the head trainer of Alpine’s avalanche dog rescue program. In honor of Bill’s service and extensive work with the avalanche rescue dogs, the adoption room at the The Humane Society of Tahoe Truckee’s future shelter facility will be named The Bill Foster Alpine Meadows Adoption Room.

Alpine meadows has released a video highlighting Bill’s work with the avalanche rescue dogs. You can view the video by clicking here.
