This week’s snow fall has resorts anticipating a prosperous holiday season. As of noon, Wednesday, Alpine Meadows reported 36″ of fresh snow, Sugar Bowl has 34″, Heavenly has 16-20″ and Squaw Valley has received 32″.

Heavenly and Northstar plan to open on November 16th, followed by Squaw Valley on November 21. Alpine Meadows will open on December 7th. Boreal has traditionally claimed the earliest opening with a tentative date of October 26th, and snow making has begun. Stay tuned.
