Weekend Travel Weather: The heavy weekend snow and traffic beginning to ramp up for the holiday may create trying road conditions throughout the weekend.  Chains and messy conditions expected along with delays.

Friday: Precipitation is expected to begin on Friday. A few to several inches are likely during the daylight hours, but the heaviest snow is expected overnight and
into Saturday.

Saturday: 1-2 feet of new accumulations expected at dawn.  Snow expected through the day with a possible mix of rain on the lower slopes.  Another foot expected during the day, more if lower snow levels. Temperatures steady in the upper 20s to low/mid 30s. West to southwest winds to 30 mph with higher gusts, to 70 mph on the ridges with higher gusts.

Sunday: Snow continues with several inches possible during the daylight hours. Temperatures steadying into the 20s.  Westerly winds to 20 mph, to 60 mph on the ridges.

Extended: No moisture break in sight.  Another heavy event scheduled for Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday.
